What are one-click applications?

netOxide make every effort to ensure that your web site hosting is easy to use and configure.  We provide several one-click install applications that can provide instant web site solutions for you or you business.

You can choose between applications for blogging, community support, forums and a variety of business applications (if you have signed up to business plus package).  They are all very simple to install, and in most cases are one-click installations.

The above screen shot shows the WordPress install.  1) Enter a folder name or leave it blank to install in the root of the site, 2) click Install Now, 3) Wait a minute or so then go and have fun.

Most applications that you install will use up one of your SQL databases, but with 15 databases included in the freedom account, we are sure it will not be an issue.

Wordpress

WordPress is well known as the de facto standard in blogging software, however, it’s ease of use and and it’s ability to be themed make it so much more than just a blogging application.  At netOxide, we believe that for most companies and individuals, WordPress is the perfect solution for creating a professional web presence.  It’s customizable, easy to use and allows you to update and modify your site content from any browser anywhere in the world.

Nucleus

Nucleus is web logging application, similar to WordPress but not quite as easy to use or functional, however it’s still an outstanding application.

Joomla!

Joomla! is a CMS application.  A CMS (Content Management System) allows you to create, edit and publish content in a consistent manner, usually allowing content contributions from others.  This makes CMS systems, a little more complicated to learn than a blooging tool such as WordPress, but their flexibility makes them great for community based sites.

Mambo

Mambo is a very similar application as Joomla, a CMS, they both come from the same code base and as such there are many heated discussions as to which is best.  Try them both out and see which you prefer.

Geeklog

Geeklog started off as a blogging application but is transitioning into a full blown CMS. Moving into the CMS arena it becomes more complicated to use, but like Mambo and Joomla can provide integrated forums, galleries as well as article publishing and management.
